Welcome to Chaney Chicks! We’re glad you’re here!

      Hi, I’m Heather Pearce. If you’re anything like our family, you’ll find yourself beachcombing wherever you travel. We love finding sea glass and other treasures along the way. We are all about the beach, sun, sand and ocean. I’m originally from Florida and always had a passion for the sea.
      My husband Zach is originally from Indiana. We met in Florida and fell in love. We then started our family in Tennessee. We both missed the ocean and knew we would be back to the ocean someday. We didn’t think it was going to be as soon as 2023! 
      In January of 2023, we vacationed on St. Croix and loved it so much, that we moved here three months later in April. We absolutely fell in love with the island and felt so connected here as a family. Every new discovery made us feel like little kids again. We laughed and dreamt about moving to the island all week. On our last day, while we were waiting for our taxi to take us to the airport, we came into Chaney Chicks gift shop. The owner told us all about her shop, and we were very excited to share our collection beach found treasures.  I explained that I nicknamed Zach the “Chaney Man” because he was a magnet for finding Chaney all week long. She said you guys should buy the shop. Zach and I looked at each other like little kids in a candy store and together said, “YES!” We prayed and asked God to open or shut doors. God’s doors were wide-open for us to come here to St Croix. Three months later, our life completely changed, and it’s been the best decision yet! Our daughter Jaycee is 3 and attends Rattan Montessori school, and she loves it. She’s also our little sea glass hunter and loves the ocean.
     We love Chaney Chicks! The original owner Denise Fawshaw established the store in 2015. She was featured in ‘Beachcombing Magazine’, as well as on multiple seasons of HDTV’s ‘Caribbean Life’. With a passion for beachcombing, she turned her dream into reality and her business took off! She was known as the “Chaney Chick” around the island because she was always on the hunt for Chaney and for this reason, Chaney Chicks gift shop was born.
     Thanks to Denise’s vision, it’s become a tradition for vacationers and locals to bring in their found beach treasures and have them transformed into beautiful pieces of jewelry year after year. Zach and I are so excited and proud to be able to carry on the tradition.  We both love seeing all the hidden treasures that are found along the shores of St. Croix. 
     We wake up every day and say, “Is this really what we get to do today?” Whether our day is spent making jewelry or hunting for treasures we are super excited to be here and love coming up with new and exciting things for our store.  If you’re thinking to yourself, “I would love to move to St Croix”, it’s easier than you think! We are huge believers that anything is possible with God by your side.  
     Our custom wire art designs are one-of-a-kind. We love turning sea glass, Chaney and shells into beautiful jewelry!
